God's Thunder
history
In the beginning, God Created the Heavens, the Earth, the sea, all life, and everything known and unknown in the universe. And each day something new was created, He also brought to life an angel to correspond with the governance therein. On the third day, when the waters above and the waters below were separated, and land was first formed, so came the storms, and with it came the birth of Ramiel.
From there, life propagated, with the creatures of the earth and sea being created, the birds of the air, vegetation, stars, and every other thing one could possibly imagine. On the sixth day, God created man, and all things were good.
Until discord began to reign.
Lucifer, God's first angel and favorite, became discontent with his station and broke with the laws He had bestowed on his angels. The following days, which felt like eons to creatures without sense of time, saw host to war. Ramiel sided with the forces of the Divine, and when it looked like there was going to be no end to this rebellion, God intervened.
The rebels were stripped of their Grace and cast from the kingdom of Heaven. For a time, things returned to a sort of balance, but that brief ping of discord in the choir of angels had repercussions on the mortal world as well.
A fruit was consumed, knowledge was obtained that man was not ready for, and the simple life that the world had known was taken on a new course as God's favorite creations were cast from Eden and made to wander and settle into a world they were not made for.
The corruption spread. The war was over but Lucifer and those who followed him became obsessed with perverting the vision of the Almighty, and thus many angels were repurposed into new roles.
Ramiel, an angel of storms and thunders, became one who spread visions of the will of God to man. He became a beacon of hope for the ever expanding populations and guided those who died to Heaven.
For millennia, this was the way of the universe. Things were not as perfect as when the world was created but there was an undeniable Good that rang throughout the material and ephemeral planes.
Eventually, however, a second wave of uprising ran throughout the universe. Angels took to Earth and spoiled in mankind's achievements. They mated with humans and created monsters and dared to question the plan God had laid out for them. This time, however, there was no war.
All angels were cast from the Heavens with this defiance of divine law, regardless of their involvement. Orders were still issued from Above, and those that remained to serve Him still continued to do so at their best, but the punishment was clear.
For trying to be like men, the angelic host would have to live among men and see if they could truly tolerate such a thing. Some took to the decree with ease, blending with humanity seamlessly. Several quietly fell and lived and loved as mortals outside of the light of God. Others less so, raging against the exile from their home and joining those humans had begun to call demons.
Ramiel remained, a servant of His Lord. He was content to play among the winds and rains, guide those who lost hope, and take those who passed to their final journey, even if he could not follow them to the end of the line. He adapted, living many lives, helping where could, never aging.
To this day Ramiel serves, though parts of him have grown weary waiting to return home, to hear the voice he was conduit to as it was in the days of old. They'll turn to the side of his Father.
One day.
